About Us
The Andgar Home Comfort Legacy
Nearly a Century of Hard Work and Honest Service in Northwest Washington
Our story starts in 1935, when a small sheet metal shop opened its doors in Lynden, Washington. Van's Sheet Metal built its name one job at a time, serving the same farms and families that still call this area home today.
Andy Mellema and Gary VanLoo started out working at Van's together. They liked the work and they liked each other, and in 1973 they bought the shop from Gary's uncle and made it their own. They renamed it Andgar, a combination of their first names, and set out to build something that would outlast them both.
That shop grew into the company you know today, but the name on the door is the only thing that changed about the way we treat our customers. The same hands-on approach and commitment to integrity that built Van's still guides every job we take on.
We have spent over 90 years earning trust across Whatcom, Skagit, and North Snohomish counties, one home and one job at a time. If you want to know what honest local service really looks like, call Andgar Home Comfort.
